The Cards won game 1 against the Mustangs 13-2 on Saturday but couldn't find an answer against the Mustangs pitching in game two loosing 3-0 in Embrach. The Cardinals started the best of five final series against the Mustangs with a 13-2 win on the Bern Allmend on Saturday. Paulino scored the first run in the first inning on a double, a stolen base and a wild pitch and Albert Marsnik singled home Johnny Perigo to make it 2-0 after the first inning. Tobias Imboden on the mound for the Cards only had to give up a run in the second inning and then kept the Mustangs off the score board untill the 7th (Imboden only gave up 2 hits in 6.1 innings of work). The Cards offense scored 8 runs in the third to blow the game wide open. The runs came on two errors and 7 hits highlighted by a Rudi Vargas inside the park homerun. As expected the game turned out to be a pitching duel between Patrick Lawson for the Cards an Tim Jones for the Mustangs. Both teams exchanged zeros untill the bottom of the sixth. The Cards run into trouble as the leadoff hitter was hit by a pitch and Pribitzer drew a walk to have runners on first and second with no outs. Two consecutive timely hits drove home the only three runs of the game before to Cards managed to get out of the inning. The Cards offense couldn't answer against a great outing from Jones who held the guests to only 3 hits, 2 BB and 11K.
